Dr. Sudarshan K. Dutta

Dr. Sudarshan K Dutta is working as the staff of IPNI (Deputy Director), South Asia Program-Eastern Region, since May 1, 2012. Dr. Dutta has established an office in Kolkata, India. Dr. Dutta received his Ph.D. in 2011 in Soil Science at Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Delaware, Newark, Delaware, USA. He earlier finished his Master’s degree in Soils from Department of Soils, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab, India in 2005. He received his B.Sc. in Agriculture in 2003 at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (State Agriculture University), West Bengal, India in 2003. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Dutta worked as Agriculture Officer at Axis Bank (then UTI Bank), Phullanwal, India. Since May, 2011 up to April, 2012, Dr. Dutta was Postdoctoral Associate, at Watershed Hydrochemistry Research Group under the guidance of Dr. Shreeram Inamdar (http://udel.edu/~inamdar/), in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, University of Delaware. During his PhD and Postdoctoral Research Dr. Dutta developed his skills in Nutrient and Pollutant (especially emerging contaminants) Export, Agricultural Watershed Management and Best Management Practices across different scales of agricultural field. Dr. Dutta has received numerous awards and recognition for academic and research achievements. Among those, he was the recipient of the Best Graduate Student Award presented by Soil Science Society of America. He is also the author or co-author of several highly cited research publications.
