Moving Ahead in South Asia - agriculture and food security in the world today.

Agriculture and food security are the top most priorities in the world today. An estimated 925 million people around the world, almost 1/6 of humanity, are suffering from hunger. More than 30% of the undernourished people of the world live in just seven countries. The current global population of 6.7 billion is expected to stabilize at 9.2 billion by 2050. This raises the question whether the improvements of food production will be able to match the population growth in a sustainable manner until 2050.
